1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 cups long-grain white rice

4 cups chicken broth (low sodium)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon dried thyme

½ teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Cook the Chicken:

    In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder. Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

      Sauté Garlic:

        In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

          Add Rice and Broth:

            Stir in the rice, ensuring it’s coated with the garlic butter. Pour in the chicken broth, and bring it to a gentle boil.

              Cook the Rice:

                Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let the rice simmer for about 15-18 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is fluffy.

                  Make it Creamy:

                    Once the rice is cooked, add the heavy cream, dried thyme, and oregano. Stir gently to combine. If you’re using peas, add them at this stage as well.

                      Combine Chicken and Cheese:

                        Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring to mix everything evenly. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

                          Garnish and Serve:
