Place the dish in the freezer to chill while you get started on the churro crust.

      Make the Churro Crust:

        In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, melted butter, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a cohesive dough forms. Allow the dough to cool for about 10 minutes.

          Shape the Churros:
