Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup crumbled cooked bacon (about 6 slices)

⅓ cup sour cream

¼ cup chopped green onions

Jalapeño slices (optional for heat)

Instructions

Prep the Potatoes: Start by washing the russet potatoes thoroughly. Cut them into thin strips, about ½ inch thick, to make your fries.

Soak the Fries: Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 10 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and ensures a crispier fry.

Dry and Season: After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry using paper towels. In a large mixing bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until they are well coated.

Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Once preheated, add the seasoned fries to the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.

Add Cheese and Bacon: When the fries are golden and crispy, open the air fryer and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon evenly over the fries. Return to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve with Toppings: Carefully remove the loaded fries from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving platter. Top with sour cream, chopped green onions, and jalapeño slices if using.

Enjoy: Dig in and enjoy your delicious loaded cheesy bacon fries, perfect for game day or any gathering!
