Ingredients

2 cups apple cider

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)

2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glazing)

Instructions

Prepare the Apple Cider Reduction: In a small saucepan, bring the apple cider to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer until it reduces to about 1/2 cup (approximately 15-20 minutes). Allow it to cool slightly.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with nonstick spray or butter.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and the reduced apple cider. Whisk until well combined.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Fill the Donut Pan: Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Bake the Donuts: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Maple Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk at a time until the desired consistency is achieved.

Glaze the Donuts: Once the donuts are completely cooled, dip the tops into the maple glaze, letting any excess drip off. Place back on the wire rack to allow the glaze to set.

Serve: Enjoy your delicious Maple Glazed Apple Cider Donuts fresh or store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
