Ingredients

1 package of refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup pizza sauce

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup mini pepperoni slices

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional for added flavor)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Fresh basil or parsley leaves for garnish (optional)

Cooking spray, for greasing

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or spraying it lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Dough: Carefully open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean countertop or cutting board. Pinch together the seams of the dough to create one cohesive sheet, ensuring there are no gaps.

Cut the Dough: With a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, slice the dough into small squares, each measuring about 2 inches. You should get approximately 16 squares from the dough.

Assemble the Pizza Bites: In the center of each dough square, place a small dollop (about 1 teaspoon) of pizza sauce. On top of the sauce, sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese, then add 3-4 mini pepperoni slices, evenly distributed for flavorful bites.

Fold and Seal: Gently fold in all four corners of each dough square toward the center to form little pockets. Ensure to pinch the seams securely, sealing them well so that the cheesy filling remains intact during baking.

Brush with Olive Oil: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, and optional Italian seasoning. Use a pastry brush to generously coat the tops of each pizza bite with this flavorful mixture, enhancing both taste and color.

Bake: Carefully transfer the assembled pizza bites onto your prepared baking sheet. Place the sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the pizza bites are golden brown and puffed up nicely.

Garnish and Serve: Once they are done baking, take them out of the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. If desired, garnish with fresh basil or parsley leaves to add a pop of color. Serve the pizza bites warm, accompanied by extra pizza sauce for dipping.
