Ingredients

2 salmon fillets (approximately 6 oz each)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 clove garlic, finely minced

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)

4 large lettuce leaves (such as butter or romaine)

1 cup shredded carrots

1 avocado, sliced thin

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

2 green onions, sliced diagonally

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish, pouring the prepared marinade over them. Ensure the salmon is evenly coated. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and allow the salmon to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, allowing it to soak up the flavors.

Cook the Salmon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Carefully place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Prepare the Sticky Glaze: While the salmon is baking, pour any leftover marinade into a small saucepan. Heat it over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry, mixing continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Once thick, remove from heat and set aside.

Assemble the Wraps: After removing the salmon from the oven, brush the fillets generously with the thickened sticky glaze. Allow the salmon to rest for a few minutes to let the flavors meld.

Create Your Wraps: On each lettuce leaf, place a generous portion of the glazed salmon. Top with a handful of shredded carrots, slices of avocado, a sprinkling of chopped cilantro, and a few slices of green onions.

Serve: Drizzle any remaining sticky glaze over the filled wraps for an extra dose of flavor. Finish by sprinkling sesame seeds on top for garnish. Serve with lime wedges on the side for a refreshing citrus kick.
